From a skeptic
I can't tell you how skeptical I am. I tend to question every 'claim' I see/read about new products. I knew that I wanted to find a replacement for the gallons of fabric softener we were going through. Not only for the expense, but the empty jugs seem absolutely ridiculous from an environmental standpoint. I ran across these 'balls'...and thought, "Yeah...right!" BUT, I though it was worth a try given the price. Wow! Was I surprised. They actually work. The only down side is that they do nothing to eliminate static. However, there's a simple fix for that little problem. Take enough aluminum foil to make a ball (about the size of a tennis ball), and throw that in the dryer along with this product. Works like a charm. So glad I had an open mind on this one. Not a 'scam.'

Dryer Balls Work!
It has been so frustrating to have my just-laundered sheets and similar large items roll up in a bundle in the dryer, often with the center items still damp, when I pull them apart. A friend mentioned adding tennis balls to my dryer so I went on line and found these dryer balls at an incredibly low price. When used as directed, they work Magic. I love the results. I bought four packages and have given them to friends - they too rave about the results. A small but great discovery to make laundry day easier.

Dryer Balls
I got my first front load washer /dryer set and the technician recommended that I get some dryer balls after the dryer was overheating. These balls are awesome. The clothes dry faster and more consistently with no damp spots on thicker items. The towels are fluffy and the dryer seems to be working more efficiently. I had never heard of dryer balls prior to this. Now I am a proponent of them.

I don't use fabric softeners. I don't like the fragrance or the chemicals. These are great and do the job of fluffing and softening my laundry. Yeah, if it is a small load in the dryer they are a bit loud, but I will take that any day over the fake "fresh" fragrance of fabric softeners on my clothes.

Help Save the Earth
These dryer balls are fantastic. They help fluff the clothes and dry time is faster. Static cling is not completely gone but it is a small price to help save the environment. Did you know that dryer sheets are listed in the top ten things that are bad for the environment? Think about how many end up in the landfill and all the chemicals on them. Do your part with dryer balls. It is such an easy chqnge.

Good product
I have used dryer balls in the past from Target that worked well. Then I read about these being much better for a little more money. Still need dryer sheet for static issue, but otherwise, they do cut down dry time. Best if you have a dryer that has dampness sensor feature, or just set for less time than usual and check! I use 2 balls in every load-small to large. The only other downside-they did not reduce dry time for bath rugs:( I have a super capacity washer/dryer running on electricity (not gas) for what it's worth. Oh, and the dryer sheets get tangled around the balls so extra step to unwrap and pull off fibers.

Disappointing
I was really excited to receive this item, but once used it lost its excitement-factor. It doesn't really do all that great of a job, especially with static. I still have to use a dryer sheet to keep static down. Oh well, my cats love playing with it.
simplygoodstuff response:
Static is caused by over-drying. When clothes are completely dry, and the dryer continues blowing hot air, you will always get static. Try reducing the time by 5 minutes each load until you get the results you want. Please call or email with any other questions or concerns.

Q:
Are the dryer balls safe for my dog to play and chew?
Asked by:

Yes they are. Make sure to avoid ingestion because they are made from plastic, but as a chew toy or fetching ball, they are safe and fun for dogs.

Q:
I dry a load of cloths when done the dryer ball was gone. Want to know what happen?
Asked by:
Big fella
- 3/28/2015
A:
LOL. They are not magical, and they will never disintegrate or melt into oblivion. They do have a tendency to play hide and seek sometimes though. Check the arms and legs of clothing, or the corners of fitted sheets. These are notorious hiding spots for the balls. Other times, they may try to make a break for it and escape by rolling away as you are removing laundry. Check under and around things near your dryer too.

A:
Yep. You could do that, or you could hand wash with dish soap in a sink, toss them in the dishwasher, or just about anything else. The plastic is both safe and resilient, so any sort of washing should be fine.

You should be able to just leave them in. The inclusion of the balls should not affect washing, and they will certainly help with wrinkles during the drying cycle.

Yes. They sound similar. Our dryer balls are not very loud, and it's because they are slightly squishy when cool, and they get more flexible when heated.
